But now, a data leak involving Thermomix has taken place. Millions of customers are affected.
Millions of Customer Records Stolen
As reported by Der Spiegel and others, the incident occurred at rezeptwelt.de, a forum run by the manufacturer Vorwerk. Vorwerk has also confirmed this separately to TECHBOOK. In the forum, consumers can exchange recipes that have been created specifically for the brand’s appliances. Cybercriminals have hacked the forum and stolen extensive personal information from its users.
This includes sensitive information such as place of residence, dates of birth, and email addresses. Screenshots of the database compiled from the stolen data are said to already be circulating on social media and have been published on the darknet. It is reported that the unidentified perpetrators have stolen the data of 3.1 million users. Previously, it was reported that 3.3 million had been stolen.

Thermomix Data Breach Now Secured
Vorwerk also informed TECHBOOK that only users of rezeptwelt.de were affected. It had previously been reported that associated forums in Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Australia had also been targeted by cybercriminals.
The breach is attributed to a security vulnerability at an external service provider. As a result, the private information is said to have been accessible for days. Nevertheless, passwords, financial data, and payment details were apparently not stolen. Other Vorwerk portals, such as the webshop or Cookidoo, a recipe service, and Thermomix itself, are also said to have been spared.
According to Der Spiegel, the manufacturer is actively collaborating with the relevant authorities. All affected individuals have been notified, and the breach has since been secured. Vorwerk further advises all forum users to disregard suspicious messages and refrain from opening any links or attachments from unverified senders.
