The range of WhatsApp functions is growing all the time. Now, a practical function that allows you to coordinate appointments on WhatsApp is to be expanded.
There are countless apps for different purposes. However, it is much more practical if just one single application already combines as many functions as possible in order to reduce or completely avoid constant switching between applications. Now, WhatsApp wants to extend the option of setting appointments to another area. This will make the app even more versatile.
Setting Appointments on WhatsApp Comes to Individual Chats
The portal WaBetaInfo, which specializes in the popular messenger, reports on corresponding developments. Those responsible are now making this available to some beta testers in a pre-release version. This means that they can now organize WhatsApp appointments with others in individual chats.
Previously, the function only existed for group or community chats, as it was initially considered more suitable for several people. Instead of two people each creating a corresponding entry in separate calendar apps, only one joint entry is required. This should ensure greater clarity and prevent misunderstandings.

Combine WhatsApp Appointments with Video or Audio Calls
When the new feature is finally rolled out to all users, they will be able to access it via the same menu used to add images to the chat or start surveys. On Android devices, this can be done on the right-hand side of the input bar with the paperclip symbol, and on iOS, on the left-hand side with a tap on the plus symbol.
The function should offer the same scope as for group calls. When creating an appointment, you give it a name and an optional description for even more details. The start and end times and meeting points can be specified. Finally, you can specify whether the appointment should take the form of a video or audio call – if you want to communicate via WhatsApp at all.
It is not yet clear exactly when not only beta testers but also everyone else will be able to coordinate appointments better on WhatsApp. There is currently no specific start date. It is said that the test phase will be extended to other people in the coming weeks.
