If you want to update your own apps in the Google Play Store, you can now do this much faster. This is thanks to a practical new feature.
There are numerous applications for different needs on the world’s many smartphones. It doesn’t matter whether it’s for banking, traveling, or communicating with loved ones – apps are practical helpers in all situations. However, to ensure that they always work well, they should be updated regularly. And there is now an extremely useful change for app updates in the Google Play Store that was long overdue.
Overview
The old problem with app updates in the Google Play Store
Android device owners know the problem: WhatsApp, Google Maps and other apps need to be given a little digital makeover at regular intervals in order to receive new functions and generally remain secure and stable. To do this, you have to download app updates from the Google Play Store – and until now, this could take some time.
Even if you started several downloads at the same time, it was only possible to process one application at a time. This sometimes led to long queues if, for example, updates were available for several apps at the same time.
Perform app updates faster in the Google Play Store
However, according to “9to5Google“, this is exactly where the company has started. It should now be possible to carry out several app updates in parallel in the Google Play Store.
According to the report, this would work with up to three applications simultaneously, allowing a longer waiting list to be processed much faster. This brings the Play Store in line with Apple’s App Store.

Parallel updates have been planned for some time
Interestingly, this is not an entirely new function of the store per se. Google began testing this feature back in 2019, as reported by “XDA” and others at the time. Since then, the option of parallel downloads has disappeared again, only to return repeatedly. There was also a variant in which simultaneous loading only worked for brand-new app downloads.
The fact that more and more people are now using the function suggests that Google is finally serious about it. However, it is not known whether this is a change to a server or an update to the Play Store itself.
It is also not yet clear whether this is perhaps another test. TECHBOOK has requested comment from Google but has yet to receive a response.
