Apple products actually enjoy a very good reputation. However, now customers have filed a lawsuit over the AirPods Pro 1. The reason is long-known technical problems.
If you are primarily in the Apple ecosystem and use an iPhone or iPad, AirPods are also the best choice. There are various models of these earphones developed in-house in different price ranges on the market. And they actually impress with the best sound quality and a wide range of functions. However, some users have now filed a complaint about the AirPods Pro 1. The reason for this has been known for years.
Lawsuit over AirPods Pro 1 – they crack too loudly
As one of the world’s largest tech manufacturers, Apple quickly faces the wrath of its customers when the company makes questionable decisions, or something doesn’t work. For example, if the iPhone is too slow, a lawsuit can quickly land on a lawyer’s desk. Now, at least three users have filed a class action lawsuit over the AirPods Pro 1 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
Disturbing and sometimes very loud cracking and static noises are said to have been the reason for this. These made use impossible. Even suggested solutions, such as removing and reinserting the headphones or cleaning them, are said to have only helped temporarily.

Apple is said to have continued selling AirPods Pro despite the problem
The company from Cupertino, California, admits in a support document that problems can occur. These would occur if too much dirt and earwax got into the devices. Then, the bass could not only suffer. Background noise could also increase.
In the lawsuit over the AirPods Pro 1, Apple is accused of admitting the problem early on in October 2020 but continuing to sell the devices with the known defect at a high price – until September 2022. It is also claimed that Apple’s statements on functionality and quality were misleading and that customers would not otherwise have bought these AirPods Pro. That is why they are demanding compensation.
The claims are currently said to amount to 5 million US dollars. However, as the class action could potentially affect more than 100 people, the amount of damages would skyrocket accordingly. However, it is not yet clear whether the lawsuit will be successful. Apple has not yet commented on this. It is quite possible that attempts will be made to reach an out-of-court settlement.
