2024 could be a big year for console gamers. Sony could provide a reason for this very soon – a hidden detail in a post now also points to this.
The rumor mill is churning regarding two upcoming consoles. Because it looks more and more like Nintendo could announce its upcoming Switch 2 soon. However, there are even more concrete indications of Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro. After many were initially disappointed that there was no mention of the PS5 Pro in the post celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand, a hidden detail in the graphic has since come to light. This seems to confirm previous rumors about the design.
What can be seen in the image?
Specifically, it is a graphic that Sony posted last week. The Japanese company published a number of smaller announcements. Among other things, it was about Astro Bot’s release and some other games. What was missing was news about the PlayStation 5 Pro, at least at first glance.
Hidden in the background of the blog post is a very clear hint. The colorful PlayStation logo and the words “30th Anniversary” can be seen. In the grayed-out background, you can see various graphics of devices and games that have shaped PlayStation history. You can see various controllers, of course, such as the PlayStation in its previous generations and the PSP.
However, right in the center, at the bottom right next to the PlayStation logo, you can see a console that doesn’t exist yet. The manufacturer seems to have hidden the PS5 Pro in the picture as an inconspicuous rectangular box with three horizontal stripes.

Sony could officially unveil the PlayStation 5 Pro very soon
Sony is apparently confirming a recently published leak about the design of the PlayStation 5 Pro. This came from the French site “Delabs,” whose experts were apparently able to see the packaging of the PS5 Pro in advance. According to the leak, the new console is clearly based on the PS5, which stands out from the previous console models with its upright white design. The difference in the Pro version appears to lie in the aforementioned horizontal stripes that are drawn between the removable side panels. While the PlayStation 5 has no such stripes, the PS5 Slim came with one on each side.
However, the design of the PS5 Pro seems to include three of them, as the console is slightly wider overall than the Slim and apparently also the normal 5 series model. The anniversary image not only seems to confirm this but also confirms that an official announcement is imminent.
Experts have been assuming for several weeks that Sony will announce its new console in September. A date as early as next week is possible. As a rule, Sony then starts selling consoles towards November, in any case just in time for the Christmas season.
