The “A Quiet Place” films are about sound-sensitive aliens who are attracted by sound. Now, a video game is being released that makes this premise interactive.
In the recent past, films and series based on video games have become a talking point. Whether it’s Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, or Arcane, the list of adaptations is constantly growing and increasingly often includes commercial and artistic successes. It can be forgotten that the other way around also has a long history and that films often become video games. A Quiet Place, the well-known horror film series, will soon be making the leap to PC and consoles. And it will bring with it an exciting innovation.
‘A Quiet Place’ game puts a well-known premise in the spotlight
There are film series for which video games have been repeatedly released on the market for decades. Star Wars or Alien are examples. In general, however, games based on films do not enjoy a particularly good reputation. This is especially so when they are released close to the movie premiere and are, therefore, quickly cobbled together. Fortunately, this is not the case with A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, the full title of the game.
In the three films released so far (two main parts and a prequel), bloodthirsty aliens have reduced the Earth to rubble. The survivors are barely allowed to make a sound. This is because although the invaders are blind, they have excellent hearing and attack almost any source of sound.
This will also be the case in The Road Ahead. It is about Alex, who has asthma and tries to survive in the post-apocalypse together with her friend Martin. However, the eerie creatures are not the only threat that awaits the two in their search for refuge and their family.

Optional feature uses open microphone
As reported by IGN, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will have an optional function for real noise detection. This feature activates the connected microphone, whether it’s a headset or integrated into the controller, enabling the game to pick up sounds from the player’s environment. The aliens in the game should therefore react to the player’s real noises.
The A Quiet Place game will be a single-player experience. It is scheduled for release on October 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Stormind Games (Remothered) developed it, and Saber Interactive (Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2) is acting as publisher.
The wait is almost over. However, those interested can while away their time with the scariest horror films of all time, which include the first two parts of the original. This isn’t merely a subjective list; it’s backed by scientific evidence.
