“The Elder Scrolls” is one of the biggest names in fantasy and open-world gaming. Accordingly, there is great anticipation for the 6th installment of the video game series, although its launch is still several years away. However, there is now a special opportunity for fans to become part of the game – if they have the money to do so.

Since the release of Skyrim in 2011, Elder Scrolls fans have been waiting for new additions to the popular video game series. With The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda has a highly anticipated project in development. The series already includes five successful main parts and an MMORPG. However, the launch of the next game is not expected until at least 2030. Although there is no news on this, fans now at least have the opportunity to become part of the upcoming title themselves. TECHBOOK explains the background.

Players Can Become an NPC in “Elder Scrolls 6”

Bethesda has recently garnered attention with an unconventional post. Fans of the Elder Scrolls series currently have the opportunity to appear as an NPC – non-player character – in The Elder Scrolls 6. This initiative is part of a charitable donation campaign that the studio is supporting.

It’s important to note that there are some iconic NPCs in the series. For example, the Skyrim soldier who says: “I used to be an adventurer, too. But then I got an arrow in the knee.” Or the general merchant Belethor with sayings like: “Everything is for sale, my friend, everything. If I had a sister, I’d sell her to you in a heartbeat.” Appearing as an NPC in The Elder Scrolls 6 can certainly earn you a certain degree of fame.

How to Take Part in the Auction

Participation in the campaign, however, requires a significant financial contribution. Bethesda is auctioning off the NPC slot as part of a “Make-A-Wish” auction. The official Bethesda post states, among other things: “The proceeds will be directly donated to Make-A-Wish to support their mission of fulfilling wishes.” The text also mentions that the winner could be involved in the creation of their character.

To bid, you can find the corresponding auction on the “Make-A-Wish” website under the keywords “Elder” or “Elder Scrolls.” However, as of now (February 19), an impressive sum is already being called out. The current highest bid has already reached an impressive 33,000 US dollars.

This is also a high figure compared to other auctions. The next highest bid is currently USD 21,600. For comparison, that amount could also secure a seven-day luxury vacation on Lake Como. Or an NPC in Elder Scrolls 6 for USD 12,000 more.

Information on Elder Scrolls 6

So far, virtually nothing is known about the blockbuster project except that Bethesda is working on it. The studio announced this together with a first teaser at E3 2018. Apart from that, we know that Bethesda wants to use its own Creation Engine 2. Fans also suspect that after Skyrim in part 5 and Cyrodiil in part 4, Hammerfell could be the next location. The region, situated in the west of Tamriel, features deserts and mountains and is the homeland of the warrior race known as the Redguards.
